Link to show the production of the creation (if any): Page 2 of 3 Mauritius as a paradise island is too vast as a theme, therefore my emphasis was on its mesmerizing beauty; the trees, the beach, the ocean, the sugarcane fields, the flora, the beauty of the sunset, the waterfalls, the fishing boat and the multicultural beauty of its population represented by the dancing figures in aluminium sheets. The relief figures dabbed in abstract form express the plurality of the nation living in unity. I have tried to fuse realism with abstraction to create this blending of nature with the human race. At the same time, I wanted to create a contrast with the dancing figures with the sunset as background to create asymmetry and tranquility. The purple and orange colours express peace and beauty. Sunset was my main focus as it is one of nature's greatest moment. I used lilac and crimson orange to show the transience of the sunset to its vanishing resplendence.
