Artwork Information (continued) Artist Statement - A detailed story about the work for viewer's understanding. The ocean and water have a significant role in poetry since the dawn of poetry itself. It's easy to see why, when you decide to lift the anchor and sail away…exploring the waters of the Indian Ocean. The ocean - both wild and calm; dangerous and beautiful - is a collision of mystery. I have been a Thalassophile ever since I can possibly remember…despite the fact that I am an Earth element. I have learnt a lot from the ocean; everything comes in waves; the importance of letting go of what we can't control; to adjust our sails accordingly from the wind. To be bold and careful of the ripple effects of one's action. Just like the water, the sky is everywhere -it is yours! And you know what they say - once you have tasted the sky, you will forever look up! Another one sailing in the sky is my partner in crime; the moon…follows me wherever I go. The heavy energies of the moon drive me crazy because of it's void and feminity essence. As they say: Maybe she's like the moon. The one that keeps on changing every day. The one that disappears once in a while. The one that keeps a part hidden. And if you're lucky, once in a while, you will get to see all of her.
